CALCULATE YOUR DAILY ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND THE PV REQUIREMENTS TO SWITCH TO SOLAR.
DEFINITIONS/DESCRIPTIONS OF TERMS
PR: Power Rating represents the load capacity of a given device. Rated in Watts.
QTY: Quantity represents the number of a given load with the same power rating.
ADU: Average Daily Usage represents the number of hours the appliance will be in use.
SYSTEM VOLTAGE: Represents the recommended voltage of the inverter to be used especially for residential and local businesses. Please Note, for large industrial use, consult a professional PV Installer.
INVERTER EFFICIENCY: This represents the efficiency of the inverter. Usually provided by the manufacturers.
BATTERY’S DEPTH OF DISCHARGE: This represents the percentage of the discharge of a given battery at a given time. The recommended depth of discharge for lead-acid battery is 50% (0.5) and for lithium battery is 80% (0.8)
PEAK SUNSHINE HOURS: This represents the average number of hours, that the solar irradiance of an area averages 1000W/m2
PANEL PERFORMANCE RATIO: This represents how well a given Solar Panel Performs. We used 65% in our Calculator.
DAYS OF AUTONOMY: This represents the number of days the battery can stay without charging.
